Francesca “Frankie” deSilva Buchert, a caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother passed away at her home on September 8, 2017. Born in New Orleans, she was 61 years old. She is survived by her husband of 25 years: Edward Buchert, daughters: Melissa Kinzeler and Erika Buchert, 4 grandchildren; William, Jeffrey, Matthew and Stephen Kinzeler, sisters; Shelley deSilva, Therese deSilva Dugas and brother; James deSilva.
Frankie graduated from Riverdale High School, and the Touro School of Nursing with a BS in Nursing and worked as a registered nurse in New Orleans, Miami and Biloxi for over 30 years. She loved the beach, traveling, outdoors, horseback riding, Shrimp Po’boys and her family. She was exceedingly proud of her daughters and her grandchildren and would not miss an opportunity to tell of their latest achievements, adventures, travels, mishaps, etc. Granny Franny truly excelled as a grandmother and would visit the boy’s often, but never stayed in the guest room. She had a special bond with Stephen, the youngest, so she always stayed in her buddy Stephen’s room. She will be missed.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 am on Monday September 18th at St. Patrick #3, 202 City Park Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70124 followed by a reception at Bill and Melissa Kinzeler’s house. Please call 504-913-5773 for more information.
