Florence Katherine Kane

 
 
Florence “Flo” Katherine Kane passed away on April 5, 2021, at the age of 93. She was the devoted daughter of Daniel Charles Kane and Katherine Clifford Kane. She was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Michael Kane, his wife Catherine Martin Kane, and her nephew Thomas Anthony Kane.
 
Miss Kane was a beloved educator of PE and coach for over forty years. She taught at St. Joseph High School on Tulane Avenue, Sacred Heart School on Canal Street, and Seton Academy (after merger). She retired in 1989. She enjoyed casinos, traveling, and sports (Go Saints!). Flo often said “This is Flo I’m on the go”. She was a true “Social Butterfly”. She loved life and lived it to the fullest.
 
She is survived by her niece Mary Etta Kane Whetsil (Arthur Whetsil), grand nieces and nephews, great grand nieces and nephews, wonderful friends, and former students whom she considered her extended family.
 
A Catholic Mass in celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
