Ethel May Sternberger Scallan

Ethel May Sternberger Scallan passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at the age of 69. Beloved wife of Steve P. Scallan. Mother of Elizabeth Stone and Teresa Gaston. Stepmother of Ashely Scallan and Steve Scallan, Jr. Grandmother of Toby Sallinger, Amya Sallinger, Sarah Stone and Jackson Stone. Daughter of the late Edwin Louis and Nola Chategnier Sternberger. Sister of Judy Munden, Mary Ellen Kabel, Edwin Louis Sternberger, Jr. (Cheryl), and Randy Sternberger (Linda), and the late Lois Blache, Christina Curtis, Gina Galiours, John August Sternberger and Karl Hugh Sternberger, Sr. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Scallan was a wonderful mother and sister. She was caring, compassionate and kind hearted. Ethel enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a Mass in the chapel at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
