Ernest Allen Dorand

Ernest A Dorand, fondly known as “Mr. Ernie” to many, passed away from natural causes, on April 25, 2021 at the fabulous age of 92, He was a three medal Korean War Vet receiving The Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, the UN Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.  He served in both the Army and the Air Force during the conflict.  Mr. Dorand was a local artist and businessman.  He concentrated on painting Louisiana Swamp scenes and wildlife that he proudly donated annually to the WYES Art Auction.  He is survived by his daughter, Charley A Dorand, his son Steven E Dorand; his grandchildren – Bryce Dorand, Christopher Laderer and Scott Higgins; and his great granddaughter Brenna Renee Laderer.
