Eric Louis Schenck was called to his heavenly home on August 8, 2018, at the age of 76. A lifelong resident of New Orleans, he was raised in Gentilly & later, lived in Lakeview. Born on June 22, 1942, to Margaret Verret & Frank Louis Schenck, Eric was the brother of Mark S. Schenck, Sr., who recently predeceased him. He is survived by his sister, Joan Schenck Kenney, and a host of many beloved family members & friends. He worked as a Construction Mechanic and was a lifelong union member of the Heat & Frost Insulators Asbestos Workers Local 53, having joined on November 21, 1963. In addition, Eric was an accomplished writer, having recently published a book. He loved his Budweiser & was also a huge Saints fan, who wrote weekly Facebook articles summarizing games & ending them with his infamous “Cuz I Sez So”. Eric had a great sense of humor & always had a daily joke for his beloved Facebook family. He will be greatly missed by the many hearts he touched throughout his life. Please join us for a celebration of his life at GREENWOOD FUNERAL HOME, 5200 Canal Boulevard, New Orleans, LA 70124 on Saturday, August 25, 2018. Visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m., with a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
