Ellen Frances “Mac” McDermott passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018, at the age of 88. Beloved daughter of the late John Michael McDermott and Ellen Daly McDermott. Sister of the late Mary Foley (Gerard), John McDermott (Marion) and Peggy Parenton (O’Neil). Survivors include 16 nieces and nephews, Jerry Foley, Peggy Foley, Patrick Foley, Mike Foley, O’Neil Parenton, Pat Parenton, Peggy Reilly, Timmy Parenton, Marianne Cuntz, Mickey Parenton, Kelly Parenton, Shawn Haddad, John McDermott, Kelly McDermott, Kevin McDermott and Shannan Brown. Also survived by 41 great nieces and nephews and 11 great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 1 nephew, 1 great nephew, Sean Foley Baldwin, and 1 great niece.
Ellen was a member of the Pioneers of Bell South. She was a retired Operator and Supervisor for Bell South and AT&T.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, on Thursday, February 15, 2018, starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Mass in the Chapel at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
