Obituary for Ellen Cortello Frisard

Ellen Cortello Frisard passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024 at the age of 97 in Mandeville, Louisiana. Ellen was born on March 26, 1927 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Anthony Joseph Cortello and Elenora Miller Cortello. She was the widow of the late Malcolm Arthur Frisard.

She is survived by her five children, Joseph Frisard, Sr. (Susan), Margie Frisard Housey (Tom Scheib), Jerry Frisard (Lisa), Janis Frisard and Jay Frisard. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Joseph Frisard, Jr., Jill Housey Adams (Clay), Thomas Housey, Keith Housey, Sr., Christopher Housey (Shari), Ashley Klein, and Christina Wallace (Dave), her great grandchildren, Alexis Callais (Jules), Ava Adams, Fiamma Housey, Keith Housey, Jr., Ashton and Anderson Wallace and soon to be Baby Boy Housey, her great-great grandchildren Jules Callais, Jr and Ayla Grace Callais.

She is survived by her sister, Jackie Cortello Beck (Al Pontiff).

She was preceded in death by her sister Janis Cortello During (late Joe During), brother Malcolm Cortello and sister-in-law Elaine Cortello, brother George Cortello (Fay), her son in law, Thomas Housey and her niece Karen Cortello.

She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends.

Ellen attended Dominican High School in New Orleans, was a member of Geneka Sorority and was the retired secretary of Jim Mora and the New Orleans Saints. She loved all of her New Orleans Saints Family.

Ellen loved playing cards, jelly donuts and creole cream cheese and most importantly spending time with her family.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm, on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. The Visitation begins at 11:00 am, and will continue until Mass time. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.greenwoodfh.com
