Elizabeth Austin Heurtin, age 80, entered into eternal rest, on Thursday, April 28, 2022. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and resided in Hahnville, Louisiana. Elizabeth was a loving, caring, and devoted wife to her late husband, Clyde J. Heurtin for 53 years and mother to Mark Heurtin (Ann), Steven M. Heurtin (deceased), and Chris Heurtin (Chee-ah). She was “Grandma” to Steven J. and Lee-ah, who greatly adored her. Daughter of the late Robert Austin, Sr. and Florence Tell Austin. Sister of Catherine Austin, Iris Kramer, Peter Austin, and the late Florence A. Perez, Harold Austin, Joyce Carolan, Robert Austin Jr., Sterling Austin, Carrie Otto, Mary Ann Cronic, and Thelma Austin. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth graduated from Nicholls High School and Soule Business College. She was member of the Greater New Orleans Association of the Deaf, an active member of St. Gerard Community for the Deaf, and has been a delegate for the International Catholic Deaf Association. Mrs. Heurtin was the former Queen of the Krewe of Dauphine.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos Church, 3037 Dauphine St., New Orleans 70117, Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 10:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM.
