Edwin “Eddie” Carol Palumbo departed this life peacefully on June 29, 2022, at the age of 85. He was born on November 15, 1936, to Anthony Joseph Palumbo and Philomena Bertucci Palumbo, who predeceased him.
Eddie was preceded by his brother Joseph Anthony Palumbo (Marie); sister Antoinette Maitre (F.N.); niece Joan Foster; nephew Jody Gauthreaux; brother-in-law Steven Gonzales and sister-in-law Patty Ponder.
Eddie is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 37 years, Joy Gonzales Palumbo; his daughter, Sunshine LeBlanc (Jay); grandchildren Jaysun LeBlanc and Jayden LeBlanc, brother-in-law Will Gonzales (Trudy) and Danny Ponder, sister-in-law Nancy Gonzales, nieces; Danielle Kennedy, Janice Klein, Angel Gonzales, Nickie Gonzales, Karen Dean (Bill), Elizabeth Ponder, Connie Gonzales, and Chasity Gauthreaux; nephews; Wayne Palumbo (Rhonda), Keith Foster, and Joseph Stevens, and his best friends Michelle and Jake Foto.
Eddie retired after 50 years of service with the City of New Orleans. He fixed and maintained the short-wave radios and TVs for the ambulances and fire trucks for the City of New Orleans. When Eddie was not fixing things, he was playing on his guitar with his HO trains running in the background. He also enjoyed traveling, church retreats, attending Feast Sites, and his many cats. He was an active member of the Worldwide Church of God.
Per Eddie’s wishes, private services were held.
