Edward R. Oden

Edward R. Oden “Esq.” passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Mary Grace Constantino Oden for 41 years. Father of Sean Bagley (Kathy), Michael Oden (Carisa), Rachael Oden and Angelle Oden. Son of the late Hazel Kettle Oden and Maurice Ray Oden. Son-in-law of the late Rose Mary Constantino and Leo Constantino. Paw Paw of Kendall Bagley, Abigail Oden and Felix Oden. Brother-in-law of Jo Ann Constantino Keegan, Tom Keegan, Deborah Constantino Pendry and the late John Constantino. He was also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Oden was a graduate of West Memphis High School, where he was lovingly known as “Tex” to his classmates. As a veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Oden served his country proudly. He was active with EMS in the New Orleans area for 30 years. He has held many professional titles as a Basic EMT, Paramedic, Fireman and Instructor. He has been a teacher and mentor to countless first responders in New Orleans throughout his career. He was a fixture at Jazz Fest serving in Medical Tent 1 and 2 for the past 20 plus years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, on Friday, June 8, 2018, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in the chapel at 1:00 PM. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery will be private.
