Edward Jackson (“Jack”) Hall, 89, died May 12, 2017 at East Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Metairie from complications of cancer. His family was at his side.
He is predeceased by his son, Kent W. Hall, and leaves his 3 daughters: Lauren Cain and Jim Cain (spouse), Janelle Hall, and Elizabeth Stolz; his 4 grandchildren: Kent Hall, Jr., Kyle Hall, Berit and Britta Stolz; his 2 great grandchildren: Kennedy and Quinn Hall; and his loving companion Janet Damiano. Born in Good Hope and raised in Destrehan, the son of James W. and Faye Hall, Jack and sister Juanita attended Destrehan High School where Jack was a football quarterback and played saxophone in the high school jazz band. He graduated Class Valedictorian in 1945. Jack served in the U.S. Navy and earned a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering at L.S.U. where he played saxophone in the L.S.U. marching band. Jack had a lifelong career as a technical sales engineer of commercial air conditioning and heating equipment. He retired in 1993. He had a talent for woodworking and spent many hours making small pieces of furniture and other items. Jack also had a passion for jazz music and loved listening to New Orleans jazz and going dancing with friends.
A memorial service will be held May 26, 2017 @ 10:00 a.m. at Lakeview Christian Center, 5885 Fleur De Lis Dr., New Orleans with a reception immediately following.
