Dears,
Dorothy remains a gift in my life. I experienced through her delight in life, joy in intellectual pursuit, kindness in interactions and a passion for justice. She's with the living God.

I began a Novena of Masses for Dot here at the abbey. Besides knowing her as a friend of my mother, Margie Foley, who taught with her at St. Dominic and I also got to know her better sitting in hospitals with our Father William MacCandless, OSB. her brother and visiting long hours talking with Dot about religion and philosophy of education. She loved her brother, Speedy, and her Catholic Faith in Jesus Christ and loved to talk about both. I will keep all her Children and Grandchildren (especially Mike, s dear friend of Camp Abbey and the Abbey itself) in my daily prayers and Masses. Love, Father Augustine "Chip" Foley, OSB. I worked with Dorothy for several years at Chapelle. She was a special lady. She also taught my daughters. May she rest in peace.

Dorothy was a dear friend whom we admired greatly. I was honored to be a guest speaker at some of her social justice classes at Chapelle. We are grateful to have known this wonderful lady and to have had her as friend. I have missed her over the past few years (last visited with her at Chateau de Notre Dame) and will miss her presence in our world. Peace Matt and Janet

Sorry for the terrible loss of your sweet mom, Dorothy. I especially remember how close and special her friendship was with my mother, Marilyn Bretz as they were childhood friends from Saint Dominics school and all through adulthood. My mom regarded Dorothy as her dearest and closest best friend and always went out of her way to spend time with her and did visit her often before her untimely passing in November 2015. I understand your pain and loss and my prayers are with all of her children during this difficult time.
