Doris Murphy Yochim

Doris Murphy Yochim, affectionately known as “Dotty” was born in New Orleans and was a lifelong resident of River Ridge, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 23, 2021 at age 91. Dotty is the daughter of the late James Murphy & Anna Roy Murphy.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Lenny Yochim, and her brother Charles Murphy.

She is survived by her 4 children: Brian Yochim (Linda), Daryl Y. DesHotel (Craig), Jamie Y. Jacob (Ronald), and David Yochim (Musette). She was a caring grandmother to her 7 grand-children: Melissa Y. Bethancourt (P.J.), Daniel Yochim (Aloma), Michael Yochim (Tara), Jessica Jacob Kluttz (Charles), Corey Jacob (Julie), Amber Yochim (fiancé Joel), and Lindsey Y. Romero (Alex). Very loving great-grandmother to her 15 great-grandchildren: Kasey Bethancourt (fiancé Stewart), Connor Bethancourt, Joseph Yochim, Matthew Yochim, Clare Kluttz, Cody Kluttz, Corynn Kluttz, Charlea Kluttz, Kaitlyn Jacob, Holden Jacob, Blaise Jacob, Brookelyn Yochim, Chloe Lemoine, Koa Romero, and Madyn Romero.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ashton Manor Assisted Living Facility for the wonderful care and support.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home (formerly All Faith’s), 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Thursday, April 29, 2021, starting at 11:00 AM. The Rosary will start at noon followed by a Funeral Mass in the Chapel at 1:00 PM. The interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to a charity close to your heart. Prayers and masses would be greatly appreciated. 

Due to COVID-19 regulations, please follow the current restrictions. Everyone attending is required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing.
