David Wayne Moran

In Loving Memory of David Wayne Moran (Super
Dave) 54 years of age. Born October 2nd 1963 in
New Orleans, Louisiana. Called to heaven April 26th
2018. A painter by trade, David was a member of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Martin, his
father Johnny Moran, and his brother Anthony Moran.
David is survived by his daughter Rosemary Moran
(Rosie), and his grandchildren Warner Moran and Avery
Verdin, his sisters Cynthia Lazaroe, Jeanne Chaupetta,
and Christina Schleigh, and his brother Glen Moran.
David was a loving son, brother, and father. Originally
from New Orleans, the family eventually settled in
Harahan, Louisiana where David was well known and
adored by all with whom he came into contact. There
wasn't a person he met who didn't become a friend
within minutes of talking with him. With a heart of
gold, David would willingly offer all he had to give to
someone in need. Even if all he had to give was his
kindness, he always found a way to help everyone. The
highlight of each year for Super Dave was Staking a
spot for the Endymion parade during the Mardi Gras
season! It was his passion. Although raised Catholic,
David later converted to Mormonism and was an
avid Mormon and firm believer in Christ our savior
and heavenly father. There was nothing greater to
him than the love he held for his daughter and her
children. Deeply missed by all friends and family, may
he rest in the kingdom of the lord eternal.
Services will be held Saturday May 5th at Greenwood Funeral
Home (Formerly All Faith Funeral Home) located at
5200 Canal Blvd. New Orleans, La 70124. Viewing will
begin at 11am with chapel service to follow at 1pm.
