Clint Savage

June 30, 1945 ~ July 20, 2021 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Tribute

After ten years, seven months and twenty-nine days of nomadic wandering listlessly through the darkness, suffering the unfathomable, horrific grief of the loss of his soulmate, Jernell Savage, one of the Last Boy Scouts, Clint Savage, was ambushed by death in a cataclysmic event which drained his lifeforce in mere seconds on July 20, 2021. His children and his grandchildren appreciated his perseverance during his battle to forge on through the darkness, and share treasured moments with his family. He is, and will continue to be, missed.
Born in 1945, to a family of four brothers, Daniel, Charles, and Michael, and two sisters, Mary and Shelba. His youth was dedicated to working the crops and tending to the livestock at the family farm in Jeddo, Michigan. He spent much of his leisure time hunting: squirrels in the orchards, rabbits in the bramble, and deer in the forest surrounding the farm; during the summer he fished the creeks along the farm.
After graduating from Croswell-Lexington High School in 1963, Clint joined the United States Navy and served his country as a radio operator for the USS America (CVA-66) when it was commissioned in 1965. After receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1967, he searched for adventure across the United States eventually settling in Louisiana after meeting his wife. They had two children, a son and a daughter, and raised them well in the small community of Luling. Clint continued to pursue his formal college education as well as vocational training as an insurance investigator and claims adjuster. Clint retired from the marine transport industry after more than twenty years. During retirement he and his wife opened an income tax preparation service fulfilling a dream that took almost two decades to manifest. Clint enjoyed working on his truck, starting home improvement projects, action movies, and red raspberry snowballs.
As a father, Clint was idealistic and a disciplinarian, who sought to mold his children into that image. After the loss of his wife, his heart softened and he learned to express his love for his son, Lantz (Rachel), his grandson, Xander, his daughter, Kori (Todd), and his granddaughters, Korinne and Khloie.
Clint would appreciate if family and friends would convene in his honor between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Boulevard, New Orleans, Louisiana, on Friday, July 30, 2021, to celebrate his life, and most importantly his reunion with his wife in the Kingdom of Heaven.
