Charline P. Matthis

Charline P. Matthis passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at the age of 81. Beloved wife of Calvin Matthis for 62 years. Mother of Rhonda Tusa (Frank) and Stacy DesPlas (the late Kendall). She was Honey to Francesca Tusa Middleton (Stanton), Kyle DesPlas, and Kiersten DesPlas. Daughter of the late Roy V. Plaia and Rose Ragusa Plaia.

Mrs. Matthis retired from Metairie Park Country Day School after 32 years. She enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. Honey was the heartbeat of our entire family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, on Friday, March 19, 2021, starting at 8:30 AM, followed by a Mass in the chapel at 10:45 AM. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Due to COVID 19 regulations, please follow the current restrictions and everyone attending is required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing.
