Charles (Chuck) Augustus Hoffman III
Charles A. Hoffman III was born on July 25, 1951 and died at the age of 65. He was a beloved father and brother. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles A. Jr. & Beverly Carmel Love Hoffman. He was also the nephew of the late Margaret H. (Harold) Vetter. He is survived by his brother Gregory G. (Anne) Hoffman and his children Blaine (Kera) Hoffman, Amy (Clay) Hoffman Willett and Charlene Hoffman. He is also survived by his four grandchildren; Lilah Hoffman, Madison Willett, Cole Willett and Kayden Gordon. Chuck was a lifelong resident of the New Orleans area. He attended St. Dominic School through the 6th grade and then transferred to St. Paul’s where he graduated from high school and enjoyed playing football while attending. He went on to attend Delgado completing his degree to become a Draft Engineer.
During his career at NASA he was proudly vested in drafting, design and the successful launch of the space shuttle program in 1981.
He was a devout fan of all things LSU, especially football where there was no room for argument. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and boating; anytime he spent near the Gulf of Mexico he considered a good day. Chuck enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren as well.
