Catherine Weiss

Catherine Phillipello Weiss born April 19, 1930, in New Orleans, passed away on Tuesday January 15, 2019. She was a resident of St. Bernard Parish for the past 57 years. Surviving relatives include her nieces and nephews: Claudette (Cliff) Reuther, Frank (Paula) Arsaga, Phillip (Suzanne) Phillippello, Jr., Pam (Buddy) Cowart, Tammy (Reza) Ajalli and Ralph Carroll. Catherine was the daughter of the late Ida Montalbano and Joseph Phillipello of New Orleans, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Weiss; sister, Mary Arsaga; brother, Phillip Phillippello, Sr.; sister, Ida Carroll; and nephew, Michael Phillippello.
Catherine was retired from the American Can Company. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, and her years in carnival clubs, Juno, Daughter’s of Eve, and Shangri La. In her later years, her joy was spending time with her family and seeing her family grow with the birth of her great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews where-in she became Nanny Cat.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Prompt Succor, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA. 70043 on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Vincent De Paul Cemetery.
