Carol Ann Gendusa Parent

Carol Ann Gendusa Parent passed away surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, May 23,2023 at the age of 83. She was the beloved wife of Maurice Frank Parent, Jr. for 59 years. Carol was born to the late Rita Famiglio and Emanuel Thomas Gendusa on January 21, 1940. Carol has one brother (John). She was preceded in death by her first son Greg Parent. She was the loving Mother of Stephanie Gonzalez (Robert) and Shawn Parent (Kriste). Carol is the Grandmother of Alexandra Gonzalez and Justin Gonzalez; Sully Parent and Shae Parent. Carol was strong in her Catholic faith, and abided in faith, hope and love. Carol was kind, down to earth, and extremely honest. She was dedicated to her family and friends. Carol loved her visits to Ireland with her best friends Jimmy and Debbie Lohan. She was the best homemaker, caregiver, and cook. Carol loved to prepare formal dinners and fed everyone, but she did love to eat at fine restaurants. She was a talented seamstress and created beautiful prom dresses for her daughter and baby clothes for her grandchildren. Carol enjoyed gardening, caring for her dogs she had throughout her lifetime, painting ceramics, making puzzles and coloring beautiful pictures which always depicted God’s gift of beauty in life.
A private Funeral Mass and visitation was held at Greenwood Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. Interment followed in Metairie Cemetery.
