Carlys Remes Carrington

Carlys Remes Carrington died suddenly on Friday, June 24, 2022 while doing what she enjoyed most, gardening in her beautiful yard. She is remembered as a mother, wife, grandmother and dog lover. She also loved to shop, travel with her friends and solve crossword puzzles daily. She turned 79 on May 29, 2022 where her immediate family (43 people) celebrated her birthday by enjoying her company and her pool in River Ridge. “Carly” a lifelong Louisiana resident, was a very strong lady who survived both Lung Cancer and Covid-19. These setbacks did not keep her from her involvement in community service and volunteering in political fundraising, which she enjoyed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her spouse of 29 years, Thomas “Dimples” Carrington who a “character by nature” and entertained her and our family regularly with his many stories. She loved to laugh and have her family, children, grandchildren and her brother and sister close by. Survivors include her daughter Kathy B. McGoey (William), son Robert C. Breuhl, Jr. (Michelle), son Bradford J. Breuhl and four grandchildren, William R. McGoey, II, Meredith L. McGoey, Carlye B. Gongora (Nicholas) and Bailey A. Breuhl.

She had many friends and will be terribly missed by her siblings Mary Beth Drez and Justin A. Remes, Jr. and her numerous nieces, nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 8, 2022 from 9:30 – 11:00 am. at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd. A small service will be held at 11:00 am, followed by graveside internment.
