Burnell Stephen Sens II

June 9, 1976 ~ January 22, 2024 (age 47) 47 Years Old

Tribute

In Loving Memory of Burnell Stephen Sens, II. A beloved husband, father, son and brother – Burnell Stephen Sens, II, went to be with Our Lord on January 22, 2024. Born in New Orleans on June 6, 1976, Burnell touched the lives of many through his commitment to his profession and his steadfast love for his family, his friends and his precious dogs. After completing his education at Holy Cross, Burnell spent time at Nicholls State University where he was an active member of The Kappa Alpha Order. It was here that he made many lifelong friends. Burnell has spent the last 20 years with Entergy where he left a lasting mark on so many people through out the City. His favorite time of year was “hurricane season” where he couldn’t wait to go on “storm duty”. No one else looked forward to hurricanes more than him. When he wasn’t working, Burnell enjoyed spending time cooking, barbequing and boiling crawfish with family and friends.

Burnell is survived by his supportive wife, Michelle Kearns Sens, his son, Burnell “Tad” Stephen Sens, III, and his daughter, Phoebe Michelle Sens. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” Abadie Sens, his brother Christopher Sens (Jessica), his sister, Lenee Sens Crowley (Dan), his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Larry and Rebecca Kearns, sisters-in-laws, Karen Rhodes (Robi) and Kelly Dubuisson as well as an enormous extended family of Sens and Abadie Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Burnell is preceded in death by his father, Burnell Sens, I, and his grandparents, Edward and Betty Jane Comiskey Sens and Charles and Viola Abadie. Burnell will be remembered for his sense of humor, crazy Facebook posts, crawfish, cooking, barbeque and his commitment to his family, friends and all things Entergy and storm related. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those that knew and loved him.
