Bruce Bernard Abadie entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 30, 2020, at the age of 76 surrounded by his family. Survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mina Mejia Abadie and his beloved children, Michelle (Hong) and Tricia. Proud grandfather “Abu” of Ashley, Isabella, and Emma Phan. Also survived by his siblings, Evelyn Olwell (Wayne), Franny Rigsby (Douglas), Michael Abadie (Gwen), Joanny Benoit (Stan), and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Seymour Bernard Abadie and Eloise Caire Abadie, his sister, Marsha Bell, and brother, John David Abadie.
He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Kenner, LA. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from the nuclear plant after a long career in plant operations.
He was a member of the Divine Mercy Bingo Club. He loved to travel, enjoyed sports, but his biggest passion was spending time with his granddaughters. Bruce was a thoughtful, compassionate, and caring person. Bruce never met a stranger, could strike up a conversation with anyone, and was a friend to all who knew him. He loved his family dearly and was so proud of his granddaughters. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A private visitation and Funeral Mass will be held at Greenwood Funeral Home with interment following in Greenwood Cemetery.
