Betty Ann Theresa Toups Hooter, 88, loving wife & mother, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 in Houston. Prior to raising four children, she was working for Catholic Charities in New Orleans. She learned her bookkeeping/tax preparation skills from her Dad so, once her children were old enough, she re-entered the workforce as a tax preparer. Later, she worked & retired from the Inland Marine
division at Continental International Insurance Co. She volunteered, along with her husband, at a local nursing home and she, also, helped with many activities & functions as part of The Keenagers at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She & her husband enjoyed traveling & visited many places in North America & overseas. Betty Ann was born in Patterson, LA on July 28, 1932 to Alfred E. Toups, Sr. & Odette M. Thibodaux Toups. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joseph H. Hooter; her parents; two sisters, Jacqueline M. Toups & Edith C. Peri; and one brother, Alfred E. Toups, Jr. She is survived by sister, Claudette Toups & brother, Edmund (Janet)
Toups; her four children: Joseph R. Hooter, Rebecca (Ron) Aronson, Mark Hooter & Wayne Hooter; grandchildren: Shannon (Robert) Hooter-Cruz, Jason (Heather) Aronson, Ida Aronson (Brandon Keller) & Tammy (Paul) Vitolo; three great grandsons; one great-great grandson & numerous nieces & nephews. A special thanks to son, Mark for caring for Betty Ann after the loss of the love of her life. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 19222 Tomball Pkwy., Graveside services will take place in Greenwood Cemetery on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 11:00 am.
