Barry Anthony Perschall, Sr. age 71, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at his home. He was born in New Orleans on September 29, 1950. He and his wife Elsa Maldonado Perschall were married for more than 50 years. Barry was a 1970 graduate of Francis T. Nicholls Senior High School and began his career at the family-owned Tonti Body and Fender Works. He later became the owner and operated Chief Body and Fender Works for 30 years in New Orleans, specializing in custom paint work, earning him the nickname “Barry of New Orleans.” He had a lifelong passion for fishing and was a beloved Pawpaw to his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Elsa Perschall; their two sons Barry “Butch” Anthony Perschall, Jr. and Ronald Perschall (Sarah), and grandchildren Alexandria, Marilyn, and Allen; siblings, Leslie J. Perschall, Jr. (Charlene), Warren Perschall, and Geralyn Perschall Honeman (Tom); Sister-in-law, Janet Perschall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie J. and Marie Clesi Perschall, and his siblings Raymond Perschall, Diana Perschall Olivieri, Kenneth Perschall, and Robert Perschall.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124 on Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Mass in the chapel at 1:00 PM.
