Art Dewayne Wade passed away in New Orleans on July 26, 2020. He was born on June 24, 1961 in Austin, Texas. He was a loving son to Elsa and Weldon C. Wade, Sr. He was a loyal Texan. He graduated from Alfred Bonnable high school and then attended 3 years of Aviation school in California. He served in the United States Marine Corps. During his time in the Marine Corps, Art served tours in both the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean, as well as being stationed in Hawaii. He was assigned as an assault troop carrier, crew chief on helicopters. Art had a passion for working with his hands, and he pursued a career in Construction.
Art is preceded in death by his father, Weldon Cecil Wade, Sr. He is survived by his loving mother, Elsa Wade. His devoted brother, Weldon Cecil Wade, Jr. and his sister, Beverly Jill Wade. His nephew, Christopher Ryan Wade. He was a very loving and caring son and very thoughtful brother, he will be sorely missed.
A Catholic Funeral Service will be held at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd. New Orleans, Louisiana 70124, on Tuesday August 4, 2020. Visitation will begin at 9 am with a catholic mass at 11:30, Father Billy O’Riordan from St. Anne’s Church will preside over mass. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Arts honor to St. Jude’s Children’s hospital. Due to Covid 19 regulations, only 25 people are allowed to attend and everyone attending is required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing.
