Alyssa Beth Cabes

Alyssa Beth Cabes of New Orleans, LA passed away peacefully at home on May 7, 2022.  She was born on May 8, 1994 in New Orleans to Jill (Curry) and Scott Cabes.  Alyssa is survived by her loving parents; Jill and Scott, her siblings; Scott Jr., Catherine, and Monica; maternal grandparents; Jackie and Bill Curry, and paternal grandparents; Cheryl and Lee Cabes; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.  Alyssa suffered a near drowning accident in 1997, and has been cared for at home over the past 25 years.  She has been an inspiration to so many people in her 28 years of life. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Alyssa’s caregiver for the past 13 years, LaJordan Moran Enclarde; her long-time neurologist, Dr. Diane Africk; and the countless family and friends who have provided care, support, and prayers along the journey. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 775 Harrison Ave., New Orleans, LA 70124 on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, with visitation at the church from 10:00 am -1:00 pm and Mass beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow the Mass in Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans. Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124 is in charge of arrangements.
