Shirley Mae Heigle Perfetti
Shirley Mae Heigle Perfetti , passed away peacefully at her home in Metairie, LA on June 12, 2017. She is preceded in death by her father, the late Mr. James (Weenie) Heigle, Sr. Survived by her beloved husband of 27 years Steve Perfetti. Daughter of Mrs. Shirley Graff Heigle, sister to James (Jimmy) Heigle, Jr., and loving aunt “Nannan” to Keely Swenson (Gabe), James Heigle III, Vi Gleber (Nick), and Bryce Heigle. Also survived by the loves of her life, her great nieces: Ava, Skylar, Dixie, Saige, Lyrik, and Kai. Shirley was a lifelong resident of the Irish Channel in New Orleans, graduating from Redemptorist High School in 1977. She was employed by World Ship Inc. for eighteen years. She was a member of the 11th Ward Social Club, the Out for Fun Social Club, and the New Orleans Ladies. Her humor and feisty attitude landed her the position of ‘sergeant at arms’ for all social clubs.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. On line guestbook at www.greenwoodfh.com
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends donate to the American Cancer society.
