Salvadore Frank Alongi, 61, died with honor and dignity on June 26, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Hammond, Louisiana.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jake Alongi.
He is survived by his mother, Lena Cirino Alongi; wife Peggy Pellegrin Alongi; mother of his children, Robin Phillips Mena (Robert); sons, Christopher Alongi, Sr., (Kristin), Nicholas Alongi (Amanda); step-son, Daniel James Savoie (Hila); grandchildren, Christopher, Jr., Sofia, Aubrey, Connor, Taylor, Caleb, Mason and Talya; sisters, Deborah Alongi Timmreck (Stephen), Donna Alongi Gervais (Buddy); brother, Frank Alongi (Kim); niece, Layla; nephews, Blake and Garrett; uncle, Alvin Cirino, Sr.; cousin, Alvin Cirino, Jr.; aunt, Bernadine Alongi Jeffries and a host of loving cousins and friends.
Sal loved his God, family and fishing. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He will be dearly missed by those who loved him.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 10:00 am, at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Boulevard, New Orleans, LA. A reception will follow immediately in the reception hall at Greenwood.
