Paul Joseph Hymel, Jr. born on December 25, 1954, a Christmas baby, went to Jesus on Friday, February 17, 2017. Preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Ann Schuber Hymel, he is survived by his devoted father, Paul Joseph Hymel, Sr. He was a loving father to Dawn H. Cusimano (David) and Kimberly H. Ohman (Jake). He was the best Grandpaw in the world to Joseph, Angelina, Francesca, and Vincent Cusimano. He is also survived by his loyal brother Keith Hymel (Kathy) and faithful sister Susan Hanson (Bob), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Retired from a 40-year career as an insurance claims adjustor, Paul was a longtime coach of his daughters’ softball teams in Mandeville and enjoyed lighting up children’s faces at Christmas as the jolliest Santa Claus ever. Paul spent his free time playing hide and seek with his grandchildren and loved singing, dancing, and the Carnival season. He will be greatly missed by all who love him.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Greenwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, LA. on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM.
