Mercedes Beatriz Quintana Gonzalez

Mercedes B. Gonzalez passed away peacefully surrounded by her immediate family on March 4th, 2024, at the age of 82 years. She was born in Cienfuegos, Cuba on February 17, 1942. Predeceased by her father, Carlos Quintana, her mother Elena Cabrera, and her brother Temistocles Quintana. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Constantino Gonzalez. Lovingly remembered by her son, Ramon Carlos Gonzalez; daughter, Yvonne Gonzalez Falgoust (Robby Falgoust); grandchildren, Jonathan Falgoust, Justin Falgoust, Danielle Gonzalez, and Emily Gonzalez; brothers, Roberto Quintana and Jorge Luis Quintana; sister, Concepcion Quintana; nephews, Dr. Ivan Quintana, Roberto Quintana, Joel Quintana, and Ramon Fernandez; nieces, Esther Fernandez and Zuleyka Quintana. Mercedes came to the United States in 1961, at the age of 19, with her husband. They both worked exceptionally hard to provide a wonderful life for their children. She worked for the Department of Agriculture and D.H. Holmes. Her most precious nickname was Titi. She adored her time with her grandchildren. She also loved to dance, shop, watch TV, and talk on the phone with family and friends. Visitation will be held at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Boulevard, New Orleans, LA 70124 on March 12th from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, followed by Mass at 1:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Special thanks to East Jefferson General Hospital doctors, nurses and staff who provided exceptional care and compassion.
