Lorraine Taix McCaslin passed away peacefully on August 29, 2017 at the age of 93.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert M. McCaslin, her parents Helene and Louis F. Taix, and her brothers Louis, Lucien, and George Taix.  She is survived by her children Bobby McCaslin (Phyllis) and Connie Richardson (Bob). Her grandchildren are Jeff Richardson (Tina), Kevin Richardson (Chris), Scott McCaslin (Heather), Katie Carpenter (Shane), Conner Richardson (Michelle) and Megan Pinto (Steve).  Her great-grandchildren are Andrew, Colin, Maggie, Brooke, Elise, Emma, Grant, Lillian, Miles, and Mila.  She was blessed to have many loving nieces and nephews.  A native of New Orleans and a resident of Metairie, Lorraine was one of the original volunteers at the National WWII Museum, working there every week until just recently.  Lorraine lived her life full of boundless energy and spirit, and she loved to cook and work in her garden.  She won gold medals at the Greater New Orleans Senior Olympics, placed eighth in the National Senior Olympic Games, and was named a Peoples Health Champion in 2003. She was incredibly generous with her time, frequently showing off the city she loved to anyone who came to visit New Orleans.  Visitation will occur on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at ST. AGNES CATHOLIC CHURCH , 3310 Jefferson Hwy., Jefferson, LA, with a funeral mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes.  Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to the National WWII Museum, 945 Magazine Street, NewOrleans, LA 70130.
