Ignacia Elizabeth (Liz) Torres, née Griggs, passed away at her home on Tuesday morning, June 6, 2017. She was preceded in death by her mother Maria Dolores (Salgado) Griggs of Tela, Honduras and her father Thomas Joseph Griggs of Brooklyn, New York. Born in New York and raised in Honduras, she moved to New Orleans in 1961. In the summer of 1985 she moved to Washington, DC and returned to New Orleans, the city she truly loved, in 2002 to prepare for retirement. She is survived by her daughter, Karla Dolores Torres who will miss her incredibly.
 
A small memorial will be held in New Orleans on Saturday afternoon, June 24th. Please email Karla at kdt717@gmail.com for location address and time.
