Deacon Frank W. Rhodes, Jr., age 85, died Thursday, September 14, at 8:40 pm. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Bernice Bonhagen Rhodes. He served as a Deacon for 22 years for the Archdiocese of New Orleans at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Chalmette, LA. until Hurricane Katrina. He then served as a Deacon in the Archdiocese of Baton Rouge at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Denham Springs, LA. until he retired. Deacon Rhodes was a proud Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam war.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Prompt Succor, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Graveside services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124.
