Don and I met in the Emperor's Band in 1963 from there we played together in The Corvettes and were very close friends and would ride to the band jobs together. I Introduced him to his wife Linda Duckworth and we had many good times together. Don was not only one of New Orleans great guitar players but also a very funny guy and a very caring person. Thou we lost contact in later years I consider Don to be one of my best friends and was a big influence in my life.he taught me so much and I love him for that. I send his family my sympathy and love and Don I will miss you and think of you always my Brother.

Hi Don, I'm going to miss you so much. You were like a father to a lot of us that came in, you also was a comedian when we needed a good laugh. I love you and will miss you so much. God bless you and your family. Lakeyia McGhie

I pray for peace for you, Danielle and your family I was very shocked when I found out your dad was so sick I was blessed to be able to spend. A lot of time with him before his death. He made me laugh and smile and always looked on the bright side. He was a person. You wanted to be around because he made you laugh. he's gonna be missed. A lot may he rest in peace.

Don was a great and funny man. I and I know many others enjoyed working with him for many years. We always tormented each other but knew it was all in fun to make the day go faster.
I only heard him play once and could not believe it was him playing as I did not know he played the guitar. He did not see me but I saw him and told him later on about what I saw. He wished he had seen me so that he could really show me what he was made of.
Don you are a special man and will be missed by many. I know that you are not stopping but taking a brief break before going on stage to perform like the rock star that you are. Prayers be with you.

Don was a frequent passenger on my shuttle bus and over time we became good friends, sharing many laughs and funny stories . He had great a sense of humor, was witty and just a down to earth good guy. . I will sadly miss his wit, his smile and charm.and feel to have been blessed to have known him. My sincere condolences to his family. R I P Don

My wife and I offer our deepest sympathy for your family. Although we lost track of each other through the years, we were best buds when we were young. He was a great guy (and what a player!)
