Audrey Legendre Kennedy passed away peacefully on Friday, August 25, 2017 at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Timothy A. Kennedy. Loving mother of Patsy Kennedy Quintini (Tom) and the late Annette K. Tsimbidis. Grandmother of Leah Marie Quintini. Sister of the late Rhetta Fallo and Irby Legendre.
Audrey and Tim had a wonderful circle of friends who they went to dances with and played Canasta and Crazy 8s long into the nights while the kids had sleepovers. Most of those friends preceded her in death so I'm sure there is a big card game going on in Heaven right about now.
After Tim died, Audrey worked part time at Sears Catalog Department and did child care in her home which she so loved doing. She was a lifelong Catholic Christian with a special devotion to the Blessed Mother saying a daily Rosary.
Audrey loved Mardi Gras. In her later years she wasn't able to scramble for beads, but she looked forward to Carrollton Parade Day when Tom and a lot of friends rode and Pat had a big parade party at her office downtown. And her wheelchair was parked in a good spot so she still could catch her share. She loved Pat's company (Professional Shorthand Reporters) annual crawfish boil. Took your life in your hands if you tried to beat her to the big ones. She also read her newspaper from front to back every day, especially the obituaries. Sure hope she approves of this one.
We celebrate her humor and feistiness and will be telling Audrey stories for years to come, laughing out loud no matter how many times we hear them.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Greenwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, La. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 1 p.m. followed by a reception in the Boulevard room on the premises.
