Allen Francis Wehner, passed away on October 31, 2017 at the age of 50. He was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. Allen was the beloved son of the late Violeta Marti Wehner and brother of the late Lawrence T. Wehner, III, survived by siblings Rita Wehner Tobias, Jackie Wehner Gordon, brothers-in-law Cameron G. Gordon and Larry Tobias. Devoted uncle to Alexander Girau, Christina Girau and Rita Marie Girau. Best friend to Randy Cramer and family.
Allen graduated from Redeemer High School in 1985 and attended University of New Orleans. Allen served in the U.S. Army from 1986 -1989 and U.S. Army Reserve from 1994 – 2001.
He played bass in the bands Anyone’s Circle and Felix Mystery, worked as an integrated computer, video, and sound systems specialist for Bernard Productions, Cyril Neville, the band Contraflow, venues and festivals such as Jazz Fest (WWOZ), Endymion, Encore Music Club, Legands and Morial Convention Center.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation, on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 9:00 AM at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM and burial at Cypress Grove Cemetery. Celebration reception of Allen’s life will be at Encore Music Club at 12:30 PM on 2708 N. Hullen St., Metairie, LA 70002.
