Diane Lee Kuckens Gowland

Our beautiful mom and grandma, Diane Kuckens Gowland passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday April 20, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. Diane was born May 26, 1947 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her parents Emile and Yvonne Kuckens and sister Darlene Wingerter. She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Dr. Samuel Duncan Gowland Jr.; three children, Stacey, Sammy and Stephanie; seven grandchildren, Katie, Haven, Gabe, Matthew, Ally, Maggie and Alex; and five great grandchildren. Diane grew up in Chalmette, LA and graduated from Chalmette High School. She enjoyed spending all of her time with family and being an extremely active mother and grandmother. She loved to dance and did so since she was a young child and continued to do so throughout her adult life with her friends from Jazzercise. Some of her favorite things in life were traveling, shopping, and eating ice cream. We will miss her until we see this beautiful woman again. May your heart be filled with wonderful memories and stories of our sweet momma to help ease your pain. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at 1:00 pm, on Monday April 29, 2024 at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124.
